Sponsors guarantee 2008 show
THE Train Collectors Society, the UK-based club for people interested in collecting or operating toy and model trains, is to receive a special boost in 2008—thanks to model manufacturer Bachmann.
Rising costs had threatened the future of the society’s annual summer exhibition, but sponsorship from Bachmann Collectors Club, which enabled this year’s event to take place as planned, is being extended to 2008. Full story in the December issue of Trains On-line Magazine.
Dartford exhibition set for January
ERITH Model Railway Society holds its annual Dartford exhibition on Saturday and Sunday 26/27 January 2008 . The show will be held at its usual location of Temple Hill Primary School, St Edmunds Road, Temple Hill, Dartford, Kent.
The exhibition will feature up to 30 quality layouts, including Burrow Road (00, London Underground) and Widnes Road (00, modern British). There will also be a number of modelling demonstrations, loco repair services and static model displays.
New venue for show
WATFORD Finescale Extravaganza was held at a new venue this year, the Queens School, Aldenham Road, Bushey, Watford. The event, held on 17 and 18 November, featured layouts in a number of scales including Bishop Wearburn (2mm), Aldbury Town (P4), and Mill Street Goods (7mm).
2008 Show date confirmed
WAVENEY Valley Model Railway Club has confirmed that the annual Southwold Model Railway Exhibition, will be held at Saint Felix School on Saturday 2 and Sunday 3, August, 2008.
Bolton show
BOLTON and District Model Railway club’s annual show was held at St James’ Church of England Secondary School and Sports College, Bolton over the weekend of November 2-3.
Among the layouts on display were Kingston Regis (009), Walkden Yard (00), Upper Benlech (00) and Boundary Lane (P4).
Open day date switched
BARRY and Penarth Model Railway Club’s open day was held at the Cadoxton Conservative Club, Barry on Saturday 17 November.
The event, which was originally planned for mid-October, was switched to a November date to avoid a clash with the Cardiff show. Three of the club’s layouts were on show and fully working.
Exhibition date at Angel Centre
TONBRIDGE Model Railway Club’s annual exhibition, which is being held 16 Ferbruary, 2008, will once again be held at the Angel Centre in the heart of Tonbridge. More than 20 layouts are expected to be on show, including Pudley Lane (00), Kinwardine Wharf (009), East Lynn (S) and Harlyn Road (0).
